Human Made

Established by NIGO in 2010, Human Made bridges the gap between Japanese fashion and American workwear. NIGO, also known for his work with BAPE and Billionaire Boys Club, intentionally created Human Made to be a brand that contrasted against his trendsetting streetwear aesthetics. Human Made’s products are all made in Japan, and its primary slogan is ‘Gears For Futuristic Teenagers.’ Human Made intends to embrace youth perpetually. The brand’s recent new arrivals include the Graphic T-Shirt #01. Cut entirely from cotton, the silhouette utilizes a crew neckline and a woven brand label at the left sleeve cuff. At the chest of the tee is a screen-printed Human Made logo graphic combined with Western-inspired graphic imagery. Additionally, the Flamingo L/S T-Shirt takes on logo branding at the front and rear. Flamingo-inspired graphics at the rear round out the design.

BAPE (A Bathing Ape)

Born in the heart of Harajuku, Japan, in 1993, BAPE is considered one of the original Japanese streetwear brands. Although the brand has transformed since its early beginnings, BAPE has been a symbol of Japanese fashion for more than three decades. BAPE was founded by NIGO, a notorious fan of 20th-century pop culture, hence the inspiration behind BAPE’s identity—the 1968 blockbuster film, Planet of the Apes. NIGO is a pioneer in fashion, as the brand’s signature monkey head, shark hoodie, Bapestas, and unmistakable camo design are common threads throughout the brand’s repertoire.

The brand’s new arrivals include the A Bathing Ape College Tee. The cotton-cut graphic tee takes on a crew neckline and a woven label at the left sleeve cuff. Screen-printed logo branding and graphics take up the front of the tee. Additionally, the A Bathing Ape ABC Camo Side Shark Sweat Shorts make a statement with their cotton construction and elastic waistband. Side pockets are seen, while the split camo print and shark head graphics tie together the remainder of the silhouette.

Neighborhood

Another signature Japanese fashion brand is Neighborhood. Introduced by Shinsuke Takizawa, the Japanese brand’s mission is to ‘Craft with Pride.’ The brand draws inspiration heavily from motorcycle and punk cultures by introducing technical apparel like t-shirts, long sleeves, hoodies, and more. Biker Japanese culture and military inspiration interact with one another. Neighborhood is revered for its iconic branding and contemporary Japanese aesthetics. The Neighborhood NH3 S/S CO Tee makes a statement with its unique screen-printed branding logo and graphic imagery hits at the front. A crew neckline is placed, wrapping up the design. Additionally, the Neighborhood Windbreaker Jacket makes an impression with its nylon taffeta construction and printed logo branding at the front and rear. The Field Sensor lining provides added comfort, while functional attributes include a snap-button closure, slash pockets, and a pointed collar.
